Chapel Point Hub

Our Chapel Point Hub is located in the car park of the North Sea Observatory at Chapel Point, Chapel St Leonards, only a moments walk from the beach. Officially opened on 1st November 2025, this second hub holds special significance for us. The original funds that founded Beach Ability Lincolnshire were raised by the Ingoldmells and Chapel Fans Facebook Group, so it feels especially fitting that Chapel St Leonards is home to our first expansion after our first hub at Ingoldmells — a tribute now to both the community at Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards, where our journey began. It is also with sincere gratitude that we thank Chapel St Leonards Parish Council for granting us permission to locate our hub on these grounds and for their continued support of our work.

Access and Parking

The North Sea Observatory car park has a small pay-and-display charge and no height barrier, making it ideal for larger wheelchair-accessible vehicles and minibuses. From the car park, gentle ramps lead up to the promenade and Observatory, where the beach can also be accessed via ramped entry points. Our volunteers will be happy to advise which access point best suits your needs and will accompany you to the beach to ensure you’re comfortable and confident finding your way. You can find further information about how to find us by scrolling down this page

Equipment Available

At Chapel Point, we currently have:

  • Two different types of beach wheelchair.
  • A beach walker, for those just needing a little help to walk on the sand, or can be booked alongside a wheelchair if you wish to use it for a paddle once you've reached the sea.
  • A manual hoist. Please see further information below.

Full details of each wheelchair, along with booking request forms, can be found further down this page.

About the Beach

The beach at Chapel Point is a true beauty spot! It offers a vast stretch of flat sand — perfect for those who might find sand dunes or steep slopes difficult to navigate. You can also follow more of a slope down to the shoreline for a paddle if you wish. With the Seascape Café right on the doorstep serving great food and drinks, as well as facilities — including accessible toilets — it’s the perfect place for a full day out. The Observatory is also the UK’s only purpose-built marine observatory, offering stunning views and hosting a range of events throughout the year.

We kindly ask that all chairs remain on the sand and promenade and are not taken away from the beach area.
