Our Mablethorpe site - based at the Snack Shack Cafe
We’re incredibly excited to introduce our newest Beach Ability location at The Snack Shack, North Promenade, Mablethorpe.
We’ve been searching for the right base in Mablethorpe for some time, so when Robert from The Snack Shack approached us—not only offering to volunteer, but to provide a base for our service—it was an opportunity we simply couldn’t turn down. And once you see this stretch of coastline, you’ll understand why.
This part of the beach is truly stunning. With level access onto beautiful golden sand that stretches almost flat all the way to the sea, it’s the perfect place for a paddle, a splash, or simply enjoying the shoreline. The Snack Shack café itself offers a great range of drinks and treats, making it an ideal spot for a full day at the beach. There are several nearby car parks with accessible routes directly onto the promenade, and public toilets—including accessible facilities—are available at the nearby Dunes Complex.
With the support of Mablethorpe Town Council, who have generously donated a Sandcruiser chair, and Lincolnshire County Council, who have provided a Hippocampe chair through DEFRA’s Access for All programme, we’ve been able to get this site up and running and start making a difference straight away.

Looking to the future
Right now, we’re operating from The Snack Shack itself, who are kindly storing our equipment and supporting us as we grow. But this is just the beginning.
To enable us to offer the full Beach Ability experience—just like at our other sites—we are working towards establishing a more permanent base here. This would include a storage container, additional equipment, and crucially, a hoist to support even more people in accessing the beach safely and comfortably.
To help make this vision a reality, we’ve launched a dedicated fundraising campaign for Mablethorpe. If you’d like to support us, you can donate via our JustGiving page using the button below, or in person at The Snack Shack, where you’ll find a collection tin.
Together, we can grow this site into something truly special and ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, can enjoy everything this beautiful beach has to offer.

Information before booking
As we are currently operating from The Snack Shack, there are a couple of things to be aware of when visiting this location.
At present, we do not have a dedicated storage unit for personal wheelchairs. Wheelchairs can be left with our volunteers at The Snack Shack café and will be secured outside with a lock during your visit. While we will take reasonable care, our insurance does not cover your property, and so this is done at your own risk.
Please also note that we do not yet have a hoist available at this site.
We are actively working towards establishing a fully equipped, permanent base in Mablethorpe—just like our other locations. This will allow us to offer additional equipment, storage, and hoist facilities to support even more people.
If you’d like to help us make this happen, please consider supporting our fundraising campaign. Every contribution brings us one step closer to making this site fully accessible for all.
