Our Sutton on Sea site - currently based at the Seaview Colonnade
We are incredibly excited to be offering a temporary beach wheelchair service at Sutton On Sea this summer, made possible with the generous support of Magna Vitae.
Our beach wheelchairs are currently stored within the magnificent new Seaview Colonnade, located directly on the promenade beside Sutton on Sea’s beautiful, award-winning Blue Flag beach.
With the support of East Lindsey District Council plans are being developed for a permanent base close to this location, giving us our own dedicated hub, just like at our other sites. However, we were keen for people to be able to enjoy this wonderful beach as soon as possible, and we are delighted to be able to offer the service here this summer.
Access to the promenade and the beach here at Sutton is by gentle ramps.
One of the most valuable features of this location is the Changing Places Facility within the Colonnade building, right next to where our wheelchairs are collected. This provides a private space with a hoist, accessible toilet and washing facilities, allowing users to transfer comfortably into the beach wheelchair before heading onto the beach.
Your own wheelchair or mobility equipment can also be stored securely in our locked storage area while you use the beach wheelchair. Please note that any equipment left with us is stored at the owner’s own risk and is not covered by our insurance.
To make even more of your visit, beach huts can also be hired for the day from Sutton on Sea Town Council, providing the perfect base for enjoying a day in this traditional and charming seaside town.

There is also an outdoor spalsh pool that can be accessed using the beach wheelchair too! A children's playground is located next door and the Seven Dirstricts Coffee shop with a menu of delicious coffee, cake and more is based within the Seaview Colonnade building itself, to enjoy before or after your beach visit, helping to make a full day of your time at Sutton on Sea.

Best suited to adults or young people who can sit unaided. Features a lap belt and adjustable foot rest. Front swivel wheels to aid manoeuvring.

Best suited to children, or small adults who require additional support. This chair is lower to the ground, so great for playing in the sand or splashing in the sea. It has a head support, lap belt and full chest harness. We have two of these chairs available.

Our volunteers will meet you at the rear of the Seaview Colonnade building, on the ground floor, as shown in the photograph. Where they will then direct you to the nearest ramped access onto the beach.
